Quantum Fluctuations and Lineshape Anomaly in a High? ? Silver?Coated InP?Based Metallic Nanolaser

چکیده

Metallic nanocavity lasers provide important technological advancement toward even smaller integrable light sources. They give access to widely unexplored lasing physics in which the distinction between different operational regimes, like those of thermal or coherent emission, becomes increasingly challenging upon approaching a device with near-perfect spontaneous-emission coupling factor ? $\beta$ . In fact, quantum-optical studies have be employed reveal transition emission intensity fluctuation behavior nanolasers when input–output characteristic appears thresholdless for = 1 $\beta 1$ nanolasers. Here, new indicator operation high- is identified by showing that stimulated can rise lineshape anomaly manifested as from Lorentzian Gaussian component linewidth dominates spectrum above threshold.

Quantum theory of a spaser-based nanolaser.

We present a quantum theory of a spaser-based nanolaser, under the bad-cavity approximation. We find first- and second-order correlation functions g(1)(τ) and g(2)(τ) below and above the generation threshold, and obtain the average number of plasmons in the cavity. The latter is shown to be of the order of unity near the generation threshold, where the spectral line narrows considerably. In thi...

A high-resolution strain-gauge nanolaser

Interest in mechanical compliance has been motivated by the development of flexible electronics and mechanosensors. In particular, studies and characterization of structural deformation at the fundamental scale can offer opportunities to improve the device sensitivity and spatiotemporal response; however, the development of precise measurement tools with the appropriate resolution remains a cha...

Manifestation of Kohn anomaly in 1/f fluctuations in metallic carbon nanotubes.

Low-frequency noise in metallic single walled carbon nanotubes is shown to be strongly dependent on the Fermi level position and the applied electric field across the nanotube. Resonance-like enhancement observed near optical phonon energy only when the Fermi level lies near the Dirac point is correlated to Raman G-band softening and broadening. The results suggest that the competition between ...

Dynamic hysteresis in a coherent high-β nanolaser

The quest for an integrated light source that promises high energy efficiency and a fast modulation for high-performance photonic circuits has led to the development of room-temperature telecom-wavelength nanoscale lasers with a high spontaneous emission factor β. The coherence characterization of this type of laser using the conventional measurement of output light intensity versus input pump ...

Role of quantum fluctuations at high energies

In this report we investigate an influence of virtual particles on the classical motion of a system in Minkowski and Euclidean spaces. Our results indicate that fluctuations of fields different from the main field decelerate significantly its motion at high energies. The formalism described here is applicable to the majority of inflationary models. A smallness of temperature fluctuation of cosm...
